Né en 1910, Django Reinhardt est considéré comme l'un des meilleurs guitaristes qui ait jamais existé.Son style de jeu et de composition a ensuite été imité, créant un genre musical à part entière : le JazzManouche. Son influence sur les guitaristes est encore majeure aujourd'hui.Virtuose de génie malgré une main handicapée, quasiment autodidacte, Django est un des premiers àcomprendre le Be Bop, cette révolution du Jazz, venue des USA portée par Parker et Gillepsie. Il auramême le privilège d'être un des seuls européens à traverser l'Atlantique pour intégrer le grand orchestrede Duke Ellington pour une tournée à sensation à travers tous les Etats-Unis. Il meurt prématurémentaprès avoir enregistré son dernier disque en 1953 ; son interprétation vibrante de Nuages fera dire àcertains que le guitariste s'attendait à disparaître.
